The purpose of the New Castle/Henry County Economic Development Corporation is exclusively for the civic betterment and development of the City of New Castle and Henry County, Indiana; for the development of the natural resources within the county; the fostering and expansion of existing industries and commercial enterprises; the establishment of a civic and economic climate that will encourage and attract new industries; and to all things necessary to participate actively and aggressively in all matters pertaining to the social, economic, and industrial welfare of the City of New Castle and Henry County, Indiana.

The New Castle / Henry County Economic Development Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation formed in 1980 to promote and coordinate economic growth in New Castle and Henry County, Indiana. The EDC is a joint public/private partnership, supported by city and county funds, as well as private membership pledges.
